Portraits

“She has that special ability to capture a likeness.”

A native New Englander, Tchipakkan has been drawing and painting portraits professionally for the past forty years. Her fans have enjoyed her work displayed in shows, festivals, on book jackets, and magazine covers. She is a favorite guest speaker at conferences and schools across the country, and a familiar face at science fiction, fantasy and pagan conventions and Rennaissance faires.

Many of her portraits have been done as “Instant Ancestor” portraits- in various medieval styles for SCA clients and in the Naif style for those wanting a familiar face in a painting reflecting an Early American decor. “The portrait is for the joy of the buyer, I have no problem making the little girls dress match the drapes or couch apholstery. I am pleased to be a craftsman serving the vision of the one doing interior design. If someone has spent years finding just the right furniture, just the right rug, and accessories, I am happy being able to provide just the right portrait… in a style that enhances the decor, and yet is a charming painting of a grandmother- or grandaughter.”
