The Lore of the Crooked Man

DSC01888Please join Tchipakkan and Mockingbird on the New Normal 8 pm Wednesday, April 15th, 2014, 8-9 p.m. edt.  We’ll be exploring the Lore of the Crooked Man.

Do you remember the nursery rhyme:

“There was a Crooked Man, and he walked a crooked mile, he found a crooked sixpence against a crooked style, he bought a crooked cat who caught a crooked mouse, and they all lived together in a little crooked house.”  ?

This is not just a fun rhyme to share with children, but it (as well as many other folk tales and nursery rhymes, carries secret metaphysical lore hidden in the familiar images.

Some say that Mother Goose rhymes contain hidden lore of ancient pre-Christian mystery traditions. Mockingbird is going to share his interpretation of how the symbolism in the poem reveal powerful secrets of ancient sages, hidden in a children’s poem.

Francis Braunlich was born in 1943, and grew up as a mathematician, and developed into a musicologist, and Mockingbird was “born” in a sacred circle 1974. He has studied pagan and traditional symbolism and has developed this fascinating concept which can be demonstrated through the poem. and the gods know where we’re going to go once we head down this (crooked) road‽
